  • Buy and attach lures
  • Sell raw fish for yuans
  • Trade in raw fish for processed ingredients & junk items

Fishing

There are over 60 unique fish that you can catch within the fishing profession! While fishing may be one of the simpler professions, it can still be an excellent way to pass the time and make profits/gather ingredients in the process.

The world of AvatarMC is filled with a variety of fish, so explore the lakes and oceans to see what you can find. Each part of the world has unique fish (even the Spirit World), so grab your "Gone Fishing" signs and your Bucket Hats, and get to work!

Fishing Poles

There are many unique fishing poles that you can choose from, each of which has their own strengths and weaknesses.

  • Pole Strength: This represents what fish sizes you will be more likely to catch. The better the strength the more likely you are to catch larger fish.
  • Wait Time: This represents how frequently you will catch a fish.
  • Fish Retention: This represents how long a fish will stay on the hook before swimming away and failing the catch.

When looking at what Fishing Pole you want to use, make sure to keep these factors in mind - each one will operate differently, and give a different feel depending on your favorite way to fish!

Fish vs Junk

Fish

You're able to sell the raw fish that you catch at the Fish Aficionado NPCs for direct yuans. Alternatively, you may also trade-in the fish that you catch and receive valuable cooking ingredients or junk items as a result.

Junk

Despite this being the fishing profession, you might still reel in a random junk item every now and then. These junk items can be sold to special "Junk Buyer" NPCs located within the capital city markets for a combination of yuans or other valuable materials.

Lures and Lure Qualities

Lures are items that can be added to your fishing poles in order to make them better fit with your fishing style.

Lures also have their own "qualities" which will increase the chances of catching certain fish. For example, the "tasty" quality is more likely to attract with with a large amount of cooking ingredients as their trade-in items. Lures can be attached by speaking to the Fish Aficionado and selecting the "Help attach lures" option within the dialogue.

In order to attach a lure you must:

  • Have an unused pole
  • Use a pole with a rarity equal to or higher than the lure
